Nearly all of the dependant tax offsets including the
dependent spouse tax offset will be abolished from 1 July
2014.
Mature Aged Workers Offset will be completely abolished
from 1 July 2014
Savings from MAWO abolition will be used for an
expanded seniors employment incentive payment called
Restart.
Under Restart a payment of $10,000 will be available to
employers who hire a job seeker aged 50 or over who has
been receiving income support for at least 6 months
Payments to employer will commence after the worker has
been employed for at least 6 months
Seafarer Offset abolished from 1 July 2015
